My Talented Friend

I’d like to give a shout out to my best friend Bobby. He styles and takes photos of me almost every week. He is more creative than he knows! My top three photo picks are below:

Little Britain?

Let’s welcome a new addition to the family – Britain! He’s 3/4 Golden Retriever, 1/4 Lab. He was born on 9/11 and is so very sweet.

Mactastic!

Ever since I was 10 I’ve had a deep and abiding love of John McEnroe. And now I can say that I’ve seen him in person! We made a road trip to St. Louis to see a stop of the Champions Classic tour featuring McEnroe, Chang, Courier and Martin. We got VIP access (buffet/open bar) and witnessed a Q&A with all of the players before the game. I picked out a McEnroe t-shirt for Lee to wear, one that McEnroe wore on the cover of Tennis Magazine. John stopped during his Q&A and told Lee he loved his shirt! We got his autograph and enjoyed his tantrums on the court. People always ask why I like McEnroe so much…. here are some reasons: uber-talented tennis player, likes to play guitar (did you know Billy Squier taught him how to play?), Irish heritage (like me), spokesperson for prostate cancer, awarded ‘father of the year’ 1996, married Patty Smyth (I Am The Warrior!), grew up in Queens (where my cousin lives), had his own game show (The Chair), had his own talk show, appears in movies and TV (Anger Management, 30 Rock, CSI: NY, SNL), collects art and has a gallery, is left-handed (like me), really funny in person, great Wimbledon commentator, he and Tatum O’Neal appear in an Andy Warhol print… I could keep going!

Artwalk 2011

I had a record year at Birmingham’s Artwalk this year (www.birminghamartwalk.org)! Thanks to everyone that came by to say hello and those who purchased art. During the rest of the year you can find my work at nakedartusa.com.

The Power of Emo Compels Me!

I recently enjoyed going to Atlanta and witnessing a stellar live show by my favorite comedian ever, Emo Philips. The first time I saw Emo live it was 1989 and I was 19… and I got to meet him after the show. Same thing this time! I love this Alpha Mammal!

p.s. NMSD-16 and MSD are coming along nicely.
